What we expect you to do

As part of a busy Sales team you are responsible for driving the business forward through identifying, sourcing and securing new business through the tendering process and face to face appointments with corporate clients within your designated sector.

The Corporate Development Manager will proactively and re-actively sell profitable new business, targeting corporate and national accounts within your sector.

You will prospect for potential opportunities, build new customer portfolios, increase sales and identify regional and national corporate account opportunities.

You will put your proven sales expertise and considerable initiative to best deliver a solid pipeline of prospects selling waste management services.

Consistently achieve or exceed KPI’s including annual new business revenue targets.

You will build and develop a sales pipeline of lucrative opportunities; you will do this through taking the lead role in opening and developing relationships with prospective corporate clients.

You will be actively involved in the management of the tender process from PQQ through to ITT submissions.

You are responsible for managing professional bids from the initial sales phase through to closure and mobilisation.

You will create effective tailored sales solutions to corporate accounts and present them effectively through the structured tender process, in writing, verbally and through formal presentations.

You need to be able to recognise clients waste management needs whilst providing appropriate commercial solutions, using your developed sales skills to sell UKWSL’s services with a strong emphasis on service, benefits and solutions.

As part of your role you will be required to provide supporting information, including statistics, pricing information and market knowledge as required to assist in the sales process.

Ensure that the Hubspot is kept up to date with sales activities, by accurate data entry and the management of daily activities and diary events.

You will provide weekly/monthly sales reports on your personal performance and effectiveness.

Work closely with key internal stakeholders to ensure new business priced competitively, integrated smoothly and managed efficiently.

You will manage your workload to ensure that you are able to complete and deliver compelling writing for bids that are assigned to you.

You must have

Experience of Key Account Management or Sales within the waste industry

Demonstrable experience of upselling to your portfolio of accounts

Full clean driving licence

Delivered outstanding Customer Services in a previous role

A strategic and analytical focus that will drive UKWSL forward

The ability to make strong business decisions and be able to put them into effect

Patience is a key attribute required to succeed in this role

The ability to work on your own and manage your time whilst being an effective team member

Experience in the waste industry

Grade C in Math’s & English GCSE

Basic IT skills, being able to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint


You may have

Experience of Key Account Management or Sales within the waste industry

Advance level IT skills, being able to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint

A working knowledge of H&S regulations and UK Waste Legislation

You will be based remotely but be able to travel to customer sites throughout the UK
